November 2015 Waterside Coalition Community and Compliance Meeting Notes

Did You Know?

(If you were not able to attend the November meeting)

Recycling - The Recycling and Sanitation Department provides free weekly curbside residential single stream recycling for residents throughout the City of Stamford.  The City sells recycled materials for $17.50 a ton, but has to pay $69.00 a ton to haul away garbage.  The more we recycle, the less the City spends on garbage disposal.  Waterside has among the lowest rates of recycling in the City.

Cans of old paint can be disposed free of charge at Keough's Hardware on 970 High Ridge Road or the Sherwin Williams store on 1100 Hope Street.

The recycle center on 130 Magee Avenue has a paper shredding machine available for Stamford residents.  For more information or questions please call 203-977-4117 or visit online at www.stamfordrecycles.org.  Please remember to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

Employment - State grant (Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act) of up to $3,000.00 is available for employment related training through Career Resources.

Finances - Coaching on you finances, credit card debt, etc., is available through Diddel & Diddel, a Waterside wealth accumulation strategies firm.  Contact Scott Diddel at 203-708-9033 to schedule a free initial consultation.
